Visit Miami’s Best Bark Parks and Beaches

If you’re coming to Miami with your dog, there’s more for him to do than lie in the hotel room with the air conditioning blasting. There are a few dog-friendly beaches in Miami, where Fido may run on the sand, play in the water, and roll about in the lush grass of coastal dog parks. In addition, hundreds of dog-friendly parks and off-leash bark parks may be found around Miami.

Because most beaches don’t allow dogs, this helpful guide to Miami’s dog beaches will have you and your pup soaking up the sun without any worries. Just remember to bring water, clean up after your pet, and keep an eye on them in the scorching sun of Miami.

Your next Miami vacation would not be complete without a memorable trip to the dog park, the beach, or both! Pet lovers all over the city enjoy the versatility that the area’s parks and beaches offer for pet owners. In addition, Miami’s dog-friendly outdoor activities make it easy to plan a fun and stimulating day with your furry friend.

Bark Beach at Northshore Open Space Park | 8328 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141

Another dog park featuring a dog-friendly length of the beach in North Beach is Oceanside Park, located between 79th and 87th Streets in North Beach. Enjoy the beautifully maintained green area with jogging pathways, seats, shaded palm trees, and picnic pavilions.

Dogs on leash are welcome throughout the park, and there are two enclosed dog runs with waste bags and receptacles where you may take your dog off-leash. In addition, the beach at 81st Street is dog-friendly.

Hobie Island Beach Park | 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne

Hobie Island Beach Park, located just off the Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne, is another of Miami’s dog-friendly beaches. This beach is renowned for windsurfing, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding, and it offers spectacular views of the Miami cityscape.

Additionally, it is a dog-friendly beach. So play a rollicking game of fetch with your four-legged pal and let him mingle with the other surf dogs.

South Pointe Park | 1 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

South Pointe Park is a magnificently designed park on the southern extremity of South Beach with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Government Cut, and the Downtown cityscape. Playgrounds and walking pathways meander around the shoreline, leading to a grassy area where dogs can run free from dawn to 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Because the area is not fenced, you’ll have to be okay with your dog off-leash without these restrictions. It’s a beautiful spot to start or end your day while getting your dog some exercise and seeing Miami’s sky during golden hour.

Haulover Park | 10800 Collins Ave, Miami Beach

It is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to sunset and is situated near the south picnic area. There is a small dog enclosure for dogs under 35 pounds and a big dog enclosure for under 35 pounds. Shade trees, picnic tables, water fountains for dogs and their partners, doggie waste bag dispensers, waste bins, and lots of open grassy areas for you and your pet to play catch or run about freely without a leash are just a few of the amenities available.

If going southbound, enter the bark park at parking lot #3 on the west side of Collins Avenue; if heading northbound, enter through parking lot #4 on the east side of Collins Avenue. $2 per car user fee. The dog must ride in the car.
