The recent Brickell and Downtown explosion has given some fantastic rooftop spots. Even relatively small neighborhoods like Wynwood and Buena Vista also add to the option of rooftop bars in Miami. We love this, especially because many Miami Beach and Miami bars aren’t content with just good views.

These places are a great way to see Miami from a different perspective. So time your visit with a memorable Miami sunset and prepare to be wowed.

Sugar

788 Brickell Plz , Miami FL 33131

The elevator will take you up 40 stories before arriving at Sugar, the EAST hotel’s ultra-trendy rooftop club. If you wait long enough, you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views of the city and nearby canals, Asian-themed drinks (such as the Sweet Life, a sweet cocktail made with Thai iced tea, lemon, and whiskey), and a setting that seems more like a hidden, fairytale garden than a bar.

You will have to wait in line to get to Sugar if you schedule it incorrectly. And that queue may be somewhat lengthy at times. That queue is nearly always pretty long on Friday and Saturday evenings. Because the bar is small—perhaps the size of a basketball court—it has a limited capacity. If you don’t want to wait, come early, before the happy hour crowds arrive, and you should be alright.

At 10,000 square feet, the space is relatively spacious, with appropriate dining tables and more casual sitting choices for drinking and lounging.

The bar is the most recent addition to the Wynwood rooftop scene (a tiny club). Expect Greek cuisine on the menu, which is heavy on seafood and mastika and ouzo behind the bar. In addition, guests may order horiataki (a Greek salad), paidakia (grilled lamb chops), and other Greek foods to eat.

The bar will also feature specialty cocktails and alcoholic Greek favorites such as mastika and ouzo. In addition, Astra hopes to host a weekend brunch, rooftop yoga, and other special events.

Mostly outdoors, with an expansive bar and just-opened rooftop, the vista is where rustic Italian cuisine meets tropical boho vibes. Food runs from traditional pasta dishes and charcuterie spreads to seasonally inspired local eats, like the flavorful Florida snapper over sweet coconut rice.

There’s plenty to drink, too, such as wines by the glass and bottle and a shortlist of handcrafted cocktails. The perfect romantic spot with a 150-year-old banyan tree that shades the cozy space.
